Dexter, a new home, and a new project have kept me on a rollercoaster ride for the past 6months.
Dexter, our 16 year old yellow lab, passed away on March 31st. I had wanted to write a blog about Dexter, as I did about our other dog Baci, but I just couldn’t. My heart was really heavy, and I couldn’t bring myself to write about his life and death. However, I know I am now able to at least tell you that he left such an incredible paw print on my heart. I am at peace knowing that he is happy again playing with his uncle KC (my first dog) and his brother Baci. I was blessed to have him in my life!!
After Dexter’s passing, Keith and I bought a new home. We were fortunate to be able to find something in the building that we were living in, as well as to be able to sell the one we were in. It was a difficult process, but alas we were able to move in right after Memorial Day, and we are grateful that it all worked out. However, the tough part of it for both of us was moving in to a new home, without Dexter. It was the first time during our relationship (16 years) that Dexter was not with us. It was a moment in our lives that both of us will never forget.
After settling into our new home, I got back to work. My travel schedule was light, other than a conference for athletic directors of the NCAA. June was more getting our new home in order. I did start a new project, and I would like to share it with you. I have started a campaign, to raise funds for converting Behind the Mask into an eBook. The campaign, http://igg.me/p/132106, has gotten a tremendous response. I am grateful to all those who have already donated, and have spread the word for me. The above link will take you to that campaign. With your donation, and spreading the word, we can make it happen.
Dexter, a new home, and the project have kept me busy. For that I am grateful!
Thanks for reading and remember,
Never Strike Out!
